Astoundinn Cancellation & Refund Policy

Effective Date: July 2026

Version 1.2

At Astoundinn, we aim to provide flexibility and transparency regarding reservation cancellations.

By confirming a reservation, guests agree to the following cancellation and refund terms.

1. Cancellation Policy

Each Astoundinn property operates under its own cancellation conditions.

The free cancellation period applicable to each booking is clearly displayed on the individual

property listing and during the booking process. Guests are responsible for reviewing the

cancellation terms before completing their reservation.

If a Third Party is used for the booking, the Cancelation Policy conditions are the ones of the

used platform.

Free Cancellation

Guests may cancel their reservation free of charge up to the date specified in the property's

cancellation policy.

Cancellations After the Free Cancellation Period

If a reservation is cancelled after the free cancellation deadline has passed, 100% of the

reservation amount will be charged and is non-refundable.

The only exception is any City Tax (Tourist Tax) paid, which will not be charged for unused

nights and will be refunded where applicable.

2. No-Shows

If a guest fails to arrive on the scheduled check-in date without prior notification, the reservation

will be considered a No-Show.

In such cases, 100% of the reservation amount will be charged and is non-refundable, excluding

any applicable City Tax for unused nights.

3. Early Departures

Guests who choose to shorten their stay after check-in will not be entitled to a refund for any

unused nights.

4. Refund Processing

Where a refund is applicable, it will be processed through the original payment method used for

the reservation.

Processing times may vary depending on the financial institution or payment provider.

5. Force Majeure

Astoundinn shall not be liable for cancellations, delays, or the inability to fulfil bookings resulting

from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters,

government restrictions, pandemics, strikes, utility failures, or other force majeure events.

Any refund or credit in such circumstances will be assessed in accordance with applicable law

and the booking conditions of the specific property.

6. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

This policy is governed by and construed in accordance with Portuguese law, without prejudice

to any mandatory consumer protection provisions applicable in the guest's country of residence.

Any dispute arising from or related to a reservation shall be submitted to the competent courts of

the district where the property is located, save where a different jurisdiction is mandatorily

applicable under Portuguese law.

In accordance with Decree-Law No. 24/2014, the right of free withdrawal does not apply to

accommodation services provided on a specific date or period, given the specific purpose of

such services.

As required by Law No. 144/2015, guests are hereby informed that, in the event of a dispute that

cannot be resolved directly with Astoundinn, they may resort to an alternative dispute resolution

(ADR) entity. Information on the ADR entity applicable to each property, as well as access to the

Complaints Book (Livro de Reclamações), where legally required, is available upon request or,

where applicable, on site.
